portfolio site

Working on this portfolio site has braught up some issues about how to make things appear to be professional. It seems to me that I am stuck between working in a loose style that depends on personality and dynamic visuals and working in a style that looks formal to a certain degree.
This may be a misconception by me, maybe it just needs to have a function that follows an expected formula for portfolios, and that the look of it doesn't matter.

The design and the layout of your web design did appear to me to be a professional art web page design. This was before I read your assignment write-up. I think that your design layout could go either way at this point.

Overall, I think the layout was handled very professionally, in that you know what you are doing. I really like the flow of the bubbles and the transition of the band of colors. Its also very graphically done. But it could use a little more excitement in the movement and transition.

I like the design choices you made for this flash site. The muted colors and the bubbles make me feel chilled out, which is probably good for a portfolio site. Plus it's cool that you integrated some interactivity to the piece by being able to click on that image.

I like the look, its clean but still has personality. Are you going to just keep a portfolio and design sections, or is there going to be contact information and an "about me" section as well?

I dig it so far. I would be careful not to have the sites background to busy or colorful that it interferes with the work.
